Rico’s Fastfood & Restaurant: Lutong-Bahay Eat-All-You-Can
It rained the whole day and night and I wasn’t really familiar with the place so I preferred to stay indoors. For the entire weekend, I nestled under the reliable roof and above the comfort of my hotel bed. It was a life that I wasn’t used to. So from time to time, I went out to check the condition outside. And when I noticed that the weather was still not conducive to outdoor activities, I went back in, turned my TV on, and scanned every channel that might be entertaining. It was check out time the following day and the ... Read more

An Accidental Korean Food Trip at Salang Restaurant
We were at night shift and we were tired of fast food. Though new to the place, since we just moved in to a new building along Sapphire Road, we ventured out an hour past midnight to check for better options. We considered exploring for midnight eats along Emerald Avenue but before we could make a turn, we noticed this flickering banner of Salang Restaurant at the mezzanine floor of AIC Gold Tower. We went upstairs and curiously checked. At first we thought it was closed. The restaurant was dimly illuminated and its door did not open on our first attempt. Laughter ... Read more
It feels like Home in Jollibee Vietnam
After a tiring layover in Ho Chi Minh City, the last stop of our Indochina Tour, we visited Jollibee Vietnam. Roderick, with the help of his MapsWithMe app in Android, pointed the direction to shop which was relatively close to the War Remnants Museum. Back in the Philippines, we sometimes snub Jollibee or we only visit the store if its the only option left, but seeing it abroad gave us a strange feeling – unusual joy and pride. We hurried to go inside and we noticed that the atmosphere felt exactly like home, though the language was different. Jollibee Store ... Read more
4R’s Foodhaus and Family KTV Bar Camiguin: Lutong Bahay Eat All You Can
After dipping around the waters of White Island and immersing in the cold splatters of Katibawasan Falls for half day, there was no other person who was hungrier than us in the island. So we asked our multi-cab driver/tour guide to bring us to place where we can fully indulge our food lust. He brought us to 4R’s Foodhaus and Family KTV Bar. For ₱125.00, we gobbled a banquet of Filipino home-made dishes (lutong-bahay). Yes, it was an all-you-can-eat experience. However, no matter how much we tried to taste everything in the buffet table, some dishes ran out so often. Unarguably, they do have a lot of ... Read more
Hapag Vicentico’s
June this year (2013), I was looking for a place that’ll spare me from the usual dousing on the feast of St. John the Baptist. Getting wet is fun but I wanted something that is different. So I googled for some other things to do and I stumbled to this kind of festival celebrated in a remote town of Nueva Ecija, the Taong Putik Festival. Learning this, I boarded a Five Star bus bound for Cabanatuan City the day before the actual event. I had to be in the town really early so I can witness how people do the ... Read more
