The Leaf: A Poem
While the adaxis brims with vivid color,
Vibrant, and with light, it shines even more;
The underside’s dull, seemed lost the glamor.
Rarely seen the sun, change of fate is its clamor.
Like the leaf, this love has two sides.
A paradox! It’s like bliss and melancholy cycling every time.
I cannot share the pain since you’re never truly mine.
Smacked with truth, tears fall uncontrollably, to sadness it rhymes.
But since I really love you, I will endure each day
the pain and sorrow, with tears they leave temporarily
A small price to pay for the taste of felicity.
Like the leaf, a favorable twist of fate is what I pray.
