It feels like Home in Jollibee Vietnam
After a tiring layover in Ho Chi Minh City, the last stop of our Indochina Tour, we visited Jollibee Vietnam. Roderick, with the help of his MapsWithMe app in Android, pointed the direction to shop which was relatively close to the War Remnants Museum.
Back in the Philippines, we sometimes snub Jollibee or we only visit the store if its the only option left, but seeing it abroad gave us a strange feeling – unusual joy and pride. We hurried to go inside and we noticed that the atmosphere felt exactly like home, though the language was different.
As of the menu, they had healthy additions such as lettuce, tomatoes, spring onions, and sometimes, cucumber slices on the sides.
They don’t serve chicken joy with gravy but with sweet and sour sauce.
The sweet sundae and the popular spaghetti were also available.
I did not see any burger, even Jollibee’s signature Champ, in the menu during our visit (which was past 6PM) so I assumed they offered it only at a certain time of the day.
And the reason why I wasn’t able to collect enough photos, well, I was carried away by excitement and, at the same time, thirst. So, my first order was a large Pepsi which the crew didn’t get at first. They only understood it when I say upsize (and that was strange). Roderick experienced the same and he said that it could have been easier if he told the crew that he wanted the big one (not large).
Despite the misunderstandings, it was still an awesome dinner at Jollibee.
I feel the same…iba talaga ang pakiramdam kung makakita ka ng mga home-grown companies that are doing good in other countries.
Tama ka diyan, Noni
