Republic Act 10158 or an act decriminalizing vagrancy which amends Article 202 of the Revised Penal Code was signed by the President on the 27th of March 2012. The said law also iterates criminal punishment to prostitutes which angered Gabriela Women’s Party (GWP). PNoy, by penning R.A. 10158, actually affirmed that prostitute women are criminals. Something cool is coming this May 2012 in the Philippine gadget stands, the Nokia 808 Pureview. The latest Nokia phone is not powered by Windows Phone 7 OS but with the near-dead platform, Symbian Belle. The phone’s soft launched came after the announcement of Nokia and Microsoft’s partnership to topple Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android. Symbian OS, by the way, is currently maintained by Accenture. I jestingly invited my friends to witness the live crucifixions and penitential rites in San Pedro Cutud an eve prior to the village’s annual Lenten programs. Unknowingly, one of them ( Mico) had seriously taken the invitation. Since I was prying too of seeing these individuals nailed on the cross, I set our rendezvous and met at 9:00AM (which was previously scheduled at 11:00AM). One great location to visit and reflect this Lenten season is Inday Nelly’s Mystical Cave in Antipolo City, Rizal.  This 8-level deep cave attracts both tourists and devotees because of the holy figures and biblical images naturally formed or carved to its walls. This also draws the interests of researchers because of its stalagmites and stalactites formations.  It was Palm Sunday when I visited the cave alone. I was quite surprised when I saw two foreign women carrying their cross in the San Pedro Cutud’s annual “Via Crucis”. Both were in shades while one of them was in boots. They were given permit only to film the rites however they angered the organizers when they took part of the procession by bearing their own cross. In Shades?
