Containing an excitement is like moving a mountain, especially if the cause of the excitement is something that may quench your insatiable thirst for adventure.
Visions of Wonders are beautiful distractions
The thought of seeing immense limestone massifs, stunning white sand strips, fascinating underwater wonders, and verdant islands in one sweep is an overwhelming idea for a poor wanderlust to handle.
Not to mention, the host is one of the countries most respected player in the luxury resort business. Staying in Club Paradise Palawan is another enthralling reason to get agitated with excitement.
As the travel date was getting closer and closer, a marquee of postcard photos of Palawan constantly rolled like persistent apparitions. And then if I close my eyes, they became more startling and apparent. Though persistent, those visions were beautiful distractions. They served as a temporary escape from the boring, sedentary routines.
Cebu Pacific Air flew us to where the wonders are
Cebu Pacific Air, in celebration of its inaugural flight to Busuangua, flew us to Coron, Palawan for us to experience what the country’s last ecological frontier has to offer. Since it was a maiden flight, we got a chance to experience the water canon salute. Awesome!
When we were flying close to Busuanga Airport, the magical wonders unravelled from the plane’s window. Rolling hills and fascinating ridges bedecked the landscape. Endless azure and crystal-clear water surrounded it, while stunning white beaches adorned the edges.
Club Paradise Palawan, the eden of our dreams
Upon arrival, the resort’s airport pick up team greeted us with enthusiasm, Kuya Cards more particularly. It was the start of the warm, well curated welcome.
We hopped on a van to Decalachao Port, and then transferred to a speedboat that brought us to Dimakyat Island, the home base of our hospitable host, Club Paradise Palawan.
The resort is literally sitting in a paradise, where both man and nature coexisted and thrived. Shy monitor lizards cross pathways unharmed, huge fruit bats hang on the canopy undisturbed, night herons glide around unflustered, asian glossy starlings chirp infinitely unminded, and hawksbills swim unworried.
A mix of fine and pebbly white sand clad the plain while lush vegetations wrap the inland.
EcoConserve is an integral part of the brand promise
With environmental sustainability in mind, common areas such as the Fire Fish Restaurant, Dugong Bar, and the reception were all al fresco. The resort harness natural resources, including the sea breeze and natural light to provide ventilation and luminance. Electric fans were turned on only if absolutely necessary.
Single-use plastic is discouraged in the island. A decent supply of drinking water are provided to guests in reusable glass bottles.
In addition, the resort owns a farm dubbed as Taranuman, where most of the ingredients used in the kitchen were being sourced. The food scraps, in return, are used as organic fertilizers.
All the those practices are all part of Club Paradise Palawan’s commitment to environmental protection. The sustainability project is called EcoConserve.
Suites and villas are designed for utmost comfort
Club Paradise Palawan has 50 suites and villas, and is planning to open more in the coming years. Each one has either two full beds or one king bed. Some even have a sofa and dining set table for two.
The sunset villas are designed for couples. It sits near the main beachfront. Going for a swim is just few footsteps away. It has a private balcony with a nice hammock and comfortable sofa.
On the other hand, the sunrise villas are mostly bigger, especially the premier one, and are good for small families. It offers a good command endless sea and a beautiful verdant backdrop.
Meanwhile, the garden suites features a private balcony and stunning view of the island’s lush greenery. The jungly canopy gives a cooling shade, so it doesn’t get really sultry even at high noon.
But apart from the top of the line amenities, it is the excellent customer service that gives every guest a reason to return. The overall experience is made a lot of noteworthy because of the helpful and trustworthy resort staff.
The Island Hopping Tour is the fascinating highlight
Club paradise has a lot to offer within its premises. It has a beautiful snorkeling spots, which is just in front of Fire Fish Restaurant, an awesome pool, an interesting trail to its highest peak, fascinating wildlife to watch, fine selection of spirits to enjoy, and sumptuous food to indulge.
However, the fun is not contained on its borders. Club Paradise offers an island hopping tour to three of the most gorgeous island in the north of Busuanga: Malpagalen, Dimalanta, and Diatoy Islands.
Malpagalen Island features a gorgeous white sand bar and majestic limestone cliffs that is surrounded with Coron’s immaculate, azure seas. Its shallows is aquamarine and its sand is white and powdery.
Meanwhile, Dimalanta Island next is a snorkeling haven. A stunning array of corals and an amusing horde of colorful creatures await to be uncovered beneath its surrounding waters.
Diatoy Island, on the other hand, is resort owned. The green mound that floats north of Busuanga is adorned with a beautiful white strip on its edge. The island also features spectacular coral amalgamation. It is perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving as well.
Our boodle fight lunch, which was served at Diatoy, was a remarkable one. Popular Filipino staples and favorites are served. It was one big savory and flavorful dining experience with perfect beach view.
